Who is currently winning the high definition DVD format wars?
I’ve seen much more Blu-Ray than I have HD discs, only HMV seem to stock HD (red) movies in my town, Blockbuster video only stock the Blu-Ray movies and not HD. I’m hopefully going to be getting a PS3 soon so I will be another Blu-Ray supporter. I think HD support will dwindle, doesn’t the XBox 360 require an additional purchase to make it play HD DVD’s anyway? I haven’t seen any HD DVD Players in shops where I live.
It makes more sense to back the disc with the largest capacity in the computer market, I mean who wants a lower capacity disc that has no benefits? I’m not entirely sure that movie discs need that much space for the current HD technology, but in the future who knows what we’ll be watching!
Too early to tell as both make up 1.3% of total video media sales in the US.
